My contributions

The NFBWA provides safe, sustainable water to Fort Bend, TX residents. Northern Fort Bend is prone to subsidence: groundwater overuse causes the land to sink, cracking foundations, crumbling infrastructure, and flooding communities. The Texas Legislature created the NFBWA to monitor groundwater use and oversee infrastructure projects that source water sustainably.
However, the NFBWA had a PR problem. Residents only knew them as the fee on their water bill, not as the agency conserving water and preventing subsidence. That gap made the NFBWA look like a government entity after their money. Radio and newspaper outreach hadn't hadn't worked. Mighty Citizen's job was to help the NFBWA build real community engagement.

Educating on water conservation through community outreach.

The Water Force

The Water Force is an outreach campaign that connects the NFBWA to the local community by putting real people, residents, water providers, NFBWA employees, and MUD directors, in front of the camera. The senior designer worked with a local photographer and videographer to capture interviews, conservation tips, and visual content from Water Force members, then I designed and animated the digital assets for the resulting social posts, videos, and ads.

Social Media Production

Social media production was a core part of NFBWA's outreach. Each month, we worked with NFBWA to plan posts for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I designed the approved assets alongside the copywriter. I created a library of custom templates, including recurring post types like Pipe Up, Native Plants, and Water Saving Tips, plus a PSD with season-specific color overlays for image-only posts. The templates sped up production and kept the brand consistent.

PRESS & HOLD THE SCREEN TO SCROLL

Every monthly social media push came with a companion email newsletter for residents and water providers. I designed the starting template. Hours were tight, so it had to be visually engaging, easy to use, and quick to assemble. A wave motif ran throughout for visual interest and brand distinction.

The result: a distinguished template the team could duplicate and fill with fresh content every month.

The Path of Water

The Path of Water is an animated video showing how water travels from Lake Houston to northern Fort Bend. It educates residents on the work and infrastructure it takes to get water to their homes. I helped illustrate the storyboards, gave feedback to the animator, and created social media graphics to promote the video.

The Water Provider Conservation Program

The Water Provider Conservation Program rewards water providers for completing conservation initiatives with a rebate. Residents benefit too, through the rebate and reduced water waste.

I helped design a series of custom illustrated badges for each initiative, used in a flyer and across social media to inform water providers and residents about the program. I also helped create a branded presentation template to help water providers educate the public.
